10 Witchy Things to Do in Autumn

A Witchy Bucket List for Autumn Magic

Autumn is the season of magic — the veil feels thinner, the air sharper, and the colors richer. The turning of the wheel calls us inward and outward all at once: into our cozy homes, into our deeper selves, and out toward the wild beauty of falling leaves and crisp skies.

Here’s my little witchy bucket list for savoring the season:

1. Leaf Divination

On your next walk, quiet your mind and ask a question. Notice which leaf catches your attention — its color, shape, or even the way it moves in the breeze may hold your answer.

2. Make Mulled Wine or Cider

Simmer apple cider or red wine with cinnamon, cloves, and orange slices. Serve it under the full moon to share warmth and blessings with those you love.

3. Gratitude Jar

Each day, write down one thing you’re thankful for on a slip of paper. Collect them all season long, and on Yule, read them aloud to close the year with love.

4. Press Autumn Leaves

Tuck the most beautiful leaves between the pages of a heavy book. Later, use them in spellwork, on your seasonal altar, or as bookmarks filled with fall magic.

5. Create a Spell Jar

Fill a small jar with acorns, herbs, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Seal it with a candle and focus your intentions — prosperity, grounding, or whatever you need most this season.

6. Acorn Charms

Carry an acorn in your pocket for protection, good luck, and as a reminder of potential waiting to grow.

7. Visit an Orchard

Pick apples, wander through rows of trees, and honor the harvest. Support local growers while celebrating abundance in its sweetest form.

8. Brew Tea Under the Full Moon

Take your favorite herbal tea outside under moonlight. Whisper your intentions as it steeps, and sip the magic back into yourself.

9. Seasonal Crafting

Make a wreath of autumn herbs, string together leaf garlands, or sew an altar cloth in harvest colors. Crafting with intention weaves magic into even the simplest things.

10. Night Walks

Step outside in the cool evening. Listen to the rustle of leaves, feel the bite of the air, and let the night sky remind you of the beauty in mystery.

Gathering the Magic of the Season

Autumn is a time of gathering — not just apples and herbs, but also memories, wisdom, and magic. Let yourself wander, create, and rest in rhythm with the turning of the season.
